Blast from the past.

I'm becoming increasingly obsessed with period clothing that doesn't look period.

This jumper , which looks like something urban outfitters would shit out on a good day is in fact circa 1894,

It's a jumper that reflects the era of the Gibson girl, The Gibson girl is believed to be the first standardization of beauty. This was the first time posh girls roughed it, the modern day equivalent would be those irritating posh girls that wear Jack Wills tracksuits whom enjoy spending a lot of money to look shit.

The gibson girl was a symbol of freedom and independence, this was the first time women had permission to think and were aloud to partake in sports thus creating a range of womens sportswear unseen before. They had big messy Rah hair, small waists and slender builds. According to the various illustrations and photographs, all Gibson girls looked like Helena bonham-carter. They were suffragettes just without the rug munching. They were far too interested in getting their kit off than getting the vote.
